Natural conditions and culture
The whole region is situated in the Highlands the Czech-Moravian Highlands. In the south western part includes Jevisovicka Javořická hills north and rolling hills on the west Křemešnická Highlands, located on the northwest Hornosázavská Hills, in the North Hills with Hornosvrateckou Hills, on the east and in the center is Křižanovský Highlands. In Jihlava Hills (Javořická hills) is the highest mountain Javořice (837 m). Just a meter below the top nine rocks in the hills. Sea watershed stretching from northeast to southwest divides the county into two almost equal parts. Drainage area of the North Sea basin extends into the region of the Elbe, the Elbe flows through the region itself, however, and water flows out into a number of smaller rivers, which are the most important Sázava. Similarly, the southeast half belongs to the county drainage area of the Black Sea and Danube basin region but extends into the smaller rivers, such as Svratkou or Jihlava.
Highlands County is located in the heart of the Czech Republic. Moravian Region consists of highlands, with its gorgeous and very well-preserved nature. Visitors also will find two protected landscape areas, which are the Iron Hills and mountains. Besides nature, tourists can enjoy the many cultural monuments, castles, palaces and religious buildings. The cultural heritage in the county were three inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage. These are the historical center of Telc, the Pilgrimage Church of St. John of Nepomuk (Zdar nad Sazavou) at Green Mount and Jewish Quarter, Jewish cemetery and the Basilica of St Procopius in Trebic. Among the region's attractions include the Museum in Pelhřimov mapping the unique performances of Czech and world record holders.
